Moths

That's an odd looking leaf

Oh no it's a determinedly asleep moth
Actias luna - Luna Moth

This is a much better disguised moth
Sphinx kalmiae – Laurel Sphinx Moth

Apparently the Luna moths are endangered in some places! (ETA: this is a male 'cause he has bushier antennae!) We let go of the leaf very gently and it flipped back to its original position and the Luna moth went back to sleeping. The Laurel sphynx moth on the other hand was busily trying to endanger itself by fluttering around in bright sunshine on a concrete surface - so he got moved to the location you see here.
